View Out the Window
Winter has officially arrived (before the official start of winter) here in exotic Toledo, Ohio and here is what it looks like out of my window where I sit and type, type, type.
Oh well I’m counting the days until spring until we can start our garden again (we are super big on organic gardening). Has anyone used that indoor garden (AeroGarden I think is the name)? I’m curious if those work. SKinney (my partner) won’t even HEAR about indoor growing of tomatoes (he’s one of those dirt and trowel snobs), personally I find it fascinating.
I found out about a new cool place to get paid for articles (thank you Trish!). It’s called BrightHub (www.brighthub.com/) and they pay $10.00 per article and they want a HUGE variety of topics to write about.
Last but not least, I’m getting toooo many emails a day from Charles Wellmore of Freelance Writers (you know the place that ropes in writers for an initial sign up fee of $2.95 and then a much higher monthly fee with absolutely not ONE person I know that has joined finding one single paying gig). I was getting one per day so I wrote them and asked to be removed from their mailing list.
Dumb move on my part.
Then I started getting TWO emails per day. I weighed the options of making this worse or trying to unsubscribe from a mailing list I never joined in the first place.I decided to try one last time to unsubscribe.Yep, now I’m getting 4-5 emails a day from Charles Wellmore’s joint. UGH!Stop the ride I wanna get off!Every other contact email for the place bounced back to me so I just set up a mail filter to send everything from the place to its own folder. At least it won’t be uglying up my Inbox.

I have this habit of collecting recipe books. The older the better.
I love reading about foods from around the word and I really love ethnic cooking. SKinney and I both love cuisines that lean towards the hot and spicy so Indian, Mexican, Hunan and Moroccan (yes, we know it’s not ALL hot) are some of our our favorite types of foods. SKinney makes a mean curry!
So back to cookbooks. I have one from the 1930’s that advises serving Jellied Veal Loaf and minted olives at a “Teenager Party”.
I can see my 15-year old and her friends trying to decide whether to dig into the congealing veal loaf or minty olives over a game of Guitar Hero II.
Anyway in my quest for more disgusting recipes to add to my personal collection – I ran across “The Gallery of Regrettable Food” you seriously have to go dig on this for a while.
Here’s a small excerpt….
“What caught my eye, of course, was the stain. Someone actually used this cookbook. And used it again. And again and again and again until she had such horrific jitters she dumped coffee all over the place. The book had to go away for a while after that. But now we have it. Ready to have fun with coffee? WHOOOOOOO
Are you ready to have MORE fun with coffee?
I CAN’T HEAR YOU!
WHOOOOOOOO
Okay, let’s begin”.
Anyway – just wanted to share that.
Hope you’re having a safe and wonderful holiday season.
If you’re looking for PLR content – we have some announcements over there about upcoming sets this week – jump on them when they are released – many sets go within days as there are only 50 per set sold. See the PLR Department and see what’s up!
