Article Marketing Really Does Work

I do affiliate marketing and I’ve spent an embarrassingly large amount of money on this must have affiliate marketing guide and that must have affiliate marketing guide only to find…. the only people making money are the “gurus” who get together and tout each other’s products.

There is no magic formula and it IS work but it’s not hard work and you can do affiliate marketing in your jammies eating a scone and enjoying coffee while Maury is saying, “You are not the father!” on your television in the background – how many jobs can you do that on?

I have found through years of trying this technique and that technique – good old informative article marketing works the very best. The only drawback is that articles don’t draw traffic for very long so you have to keep writing.

Don’t you hate it when you’re looking for information on a subject and you keep running into the same spun and respun article over and over. I had a very specific niche I was researching for a client that wanted a lot of web content written and I kid you not,  I think only one set of articles was written on this particular subject -EVER. I kept running into the same articles on different sites and they were only slightly changed and they were obviously not written by someone that had English as a first language because the structure of some of the sentences was just psychotically bad.

Basically what I’m saying is, don’t put crap on the web. Don’t get me wrong,  PLR (Private Label Rights) articles are cool – I sell them too but a lot of the sets being sold are OLD like 6+ years old and when you spin articles that are that old plus have already been sold and spun a ton of times – you’re just going to get sandboxed anyway by the search engines because you’re not offering anything new. If you’re going to use PLR, buy quality stuff that has limits on amounts of sets sold because you won’t get sandboxed for it.

Anyway – that’s my two cents :) and for free heh….

Are You Using uPLR Articles Yet?uplr

Once upon a time, PLR content just rocked. It was niche oriented, well written and gave people on a budget lots of good content and writers got to resell the same article set hundreds of times so it was a big win=win situation.

Then people started spinning content – sorry I haven’t seen a decent spinner yet that didn’t make an article sound like garbage and while that’s okay for search engine spiders it just creates crap on the Internet. Enter the people that are willing to sell 100 PLR articles for $1.00 and you have a dying market.

We like doing PLR articles and we have a very loyal clientele. But, we wanted to keep the standards high without making our PLR unfriendly to budgets. Right now our sets are $10 each for 5 well crafted articles and we wanted to keep it that way.

The solution? Start thinking Web 2.0 and create a new niche in the PLR realm.

We came up with uPLR – it’s a set of articles that you will never need to spin or rewrite because the only set sold is the one you buy. Once sold, that set will be retired immediately and deleted from our servers.

We will be launching the uPLR section at 12:01am on November 21st – show up and get first dibs – we also take requests and will be adding articles every Sunday evening after that.

Each article set is written by our own staff of inhouse writers and we research niche markets to make sure your content is current and entertaining to your website visitors.

Yes, it’s like hiring our writers to custom create content but because we are choosing the sets – the cost is far less. Each article is crafted around a keyword phrase to help give you leverage for specific keywords in your niche market.

Finding Article Topics That Sell

I get this question at least once a week so I thought it would make a good blog post.  Finding topics to write about isn’t rocket science, in fact it’s easy and when you want to make a living as a writer – you need to write topics that will sell. Especially if you’re writing articles for the PLR or affiliate marketing niche markets.

Here are some of the ways I find topics that I know will sell to my website visitors.

1- Check your webstats. This is a treasure trove of good information. If I see searches hitting my site looking for “hip hop PLR” or “how to get y0ur ex back articles” – you can bet I’m gonna create an article set for those. I did that a while back with “extended auto warranty on used cars” and the PLR set sold out in 24 hours. I noticed over 100 hits in a single month period and they were coming from different IP’s so I knew it would be good.

2- Go to Ezinearticles.com, Ehow.com or LovetoKnow.com and put in “how to”, “cure for”, “get rid of” and other concentrated keywords and normally results will be returned in order from most to least popular.  I wouldn’t have thought to write an article set “cure for bacterial vaginosis” that has been my number one best seller to date. I also found a niche on Bugaboo baby strollers in this way. If you’ve ever seen them – they retail for hundreds and hundreds of dollars so the commissions are sweeeeeeet.

3.Google trends is another good source. I pretty much stick to the top 20 but it’s a good way to find topics that are happening NOW.

4-Yahoo answers (yes I know billions of people use it for backlinks too but they are pretty easy to weed out) is another great place – see what questions are being asked and if you can match it to an affiliate product – your article set will have even more value.

Those are just a few of the techniques I use. I’ll post more for you soon. In the meantime – happy writing!
