If you make money (or try to) on the Internet. You find out pretty quickly there are two types of Internet surfers.
(1) Researchers
(2) Buyers
Researchers want to know more about a subject. They will be putting keyword phrases like “what is [keyword]“, “pictures/photos of [keyword]“, “symptoms of [keyword]” and so on. They aren’t ready to buy anything yet, they are basically just getting information on a subject and wanting to know more.
Buyers – these are usually the evolved form of researchers. They’ve learned what they need to know on their subject of choice and they are ready to make a purchase. Your website needs to convey why that purchase should be done through you. Buyers use keyword phrases like “buy [product name]“, “purchase [product name]” or “get rid of [keyword phrase]” to just name a few.
Now for most of us, both kinds of traffic is good, but why?
Researchers tend to bring us Adzoogle or Adsense clicks and so you want to know what the higher traffic keyword phrases are. Buyers however need to be laser targeted so you can bring in the people ready to make a purchase for the affiliate marketing product you’re promoting. It’s okay to go for “low hanging fruit” so to speak and target lesser searched buyer keyword phrases so you can bring in the people that are ready to buy.
It’s pretty much common knowledge at this point in the game, PLR articles work. They help bring traffic and they are a good, economical way to get good content without spending a ton of money. You can choose one of two angles:
1- Article sets that are basic overviews of a subject (like solar energy 101)
2- Article sets for people that already know the basics and want more information. It’s more important that the articles be interesting rather than stuffed with keyword phrases.
Simple rules to follow :
- Use the keyword phrase in the title, first sentence, last sentence and let it occur as it would naturally within your article.
- Use a friendly, conversational tone like you were telling your best friend this information over coffee.
- No first person ( I saw, I ran, I think…..)
- No links of any kind
- You must either create the content or have full rights to it
- The content must have never been published before in any fashion
Last word on writing words for us, be detailed in your articles – by that I don’t mean fill them with fluffy words like “super amazing”- I don’t want to read fluffed out garbage like that – and neither do our clients, just be descriptive. Don’t make general statements like “Everyone knows” or “A recent study showed…” Tell which study if you must mention it in your piece.
