Rose oil is one of the oldest types of essential oils. It is not really too labor intensive to make yourself and the scent is just incredible. You will never settle for anything synthesized in a factory again!
There are two ways to make pure rose oil. Using oils or using alcohol. I personally prefer the alcohol way as I feel you get the purest oil that way.

Making Rose Oil Using Other Oils
You will simply be soaking rose petals in oil. The oil you are soaking the petals in will pull the oil right out of the rose petals.
You will need the following:

Pour your oil into your sterilized jar, and then add your rose petals until the oil is completely covered. Lightly swirl, do not shake, the jar to coat the petals well.
Let stand in a dark place for twenty-four hours.
Strain oil thru a cheesecloth, you will need to press the oil from the petals.
Discard the petals, pour your oil back into the jar, add more fresh petals and repeat the swirl and wait process. When your scent mixture reaches the desired strength, that usually takes about a week. Add a drop or two of glycerine to stabilize the mixture and pour into a dark bottle and keep out of direct sunlight.

Making Rose Oil With Alcohol

In this method, alcohol is used to extract the oils from the rose petals. Do not use rubbing alcohol. The alcohol we are referring to for this procedure is vodka or any other denatured alcohol.
You will need the following:

Pour your vodka into your jar and then place your rose petals in the jar, covering the liquid.
Put the jar in a dark place for three weeks.
Pour the mixture through a cheesecloth into another sterilized container, and press the oil from the petals through the cheesecloth.
Freeze the liquid for twenty-four hours. The rose oil will freeze, the alcohol will not.
Remove the container from your freezer and put the ice crystals into a container you can tightly seal. These frozen crystals are the pure essential rose oil.
You should get roughly one half to one ounce of rose oil, a little of this scent goes a very long way.
